[Thanks to Gwen and Spiders, he finds Itachi in one of the cars set up for gambling. He's sitting at a round table with stacks of what Wei Wuxian can only assume are one form of this world's currency piled high beside him, and several cards in his hand. Wei Wuxian settles himself in beside Itachi without prompting, and though the others at the table offer him a fleeting glance, their attention quickly returns to Itachi as they're clearly waiting for his next move.
His lips twitch and he lets out a soft sigh, but he otherwise does nothing to interrupt. For now. A waiter passes by and he flags him down, casually reaching over to Itachi's winnings and passing one of the crisp bills to the the man with the tray.]
I'll take your best liquor! [The man blinks, but then nods and accepts the money before walking away.]
( what started out as waiting for his next move turns into waiting to see how he will react to someone taking his money, and itachi does not miss a beat. instead, mildly — )
Darling, I believe we've spoken about you interrupting my card games?
( and, via the earpiece: «You took longer than I expected. A pity.» )
[Possibly, Wei Wuxian can count the number of times someone has outplayed his shameless annoyingness on one hand. That Itachi is now one of those instances is somehow both shocking and completely expected. Ignoring the heat he feels in his cheeks, and managing to turn his glare into something more flirtatious, he scoots closer to Itachi and tilts his head to the side with a playful smirk.]
Yeah, but you've been gone for so long. You can't expect me to be patient when you leave me all alone for hours, Sweetheart. [His smirk drops into a playful pout and he shakes his head.] I'm beginning to feel very neglected.
[His own response through the earpiece comes a second later.]
«Didn't realize you were waiting for me with so much eagerness. I'll be faster next time. Also I can't believe you just made me a cheating husband! I'm making you break it to Gwen.»
( «Perhaps you shouldn't have been so familiar with me. These people are irate at having lost a significant amount of money, they are waiting for a sign of weakness or some mistake. You presented them with an opportunity to exploit me in some regard — and something tells me Gwen will not mind.» )
Perhaps you'll be less neglected once you have a chance to go shopping on my dime.
( bored, droll. his cover story is that he's somewhat dry and caustic, sharp-tongue and clever fingers. to the dealer — )
Please, another card.
( there is a one in three chance of it being the one he needs to win the hand, and he can excuse himself at that point with his winnings. )
