( he sets a tiny pastry box on the surface of the table. within the transparent plastic window, a small chocolate cake can be seen. he opens the lid to reveal in clearer detail what looks to be three circles drawn in different colored icing on its face โ one pink, white and green. )
๏ผ he raises an eyebrow faintly, and reaches out to tug the little box towards himself for inspection. there is nowhere near them, so no one would have been able to see (or, he guesses, would know) what the treat is meant to be, so instead he folds the box back up and gently puts it off to one side for later. ๏ผ

๏ผ his tone is... odd. as if he can't decide to sound warmed by it or wholly, entirely distant. ๏ผ
๏ผ however, eating it in public in a world where there is no food to speak of save the heavily rationed pills will only create a scene. later. instead, he switches gears to a different topic, the sort of thing that might be discussed between schoolmates looking to blow off some steam. ๏ผ
I could do without some of them, but they've been insightful so far.
( it has been an interesting experience to say the least, but the only classes that have truly piqued his interest are the ones centered on art and literature. unsurprisingly, he has been using a clone to attend them in his place, preferring to use the time for more productive activities. it was really only novel the first few lessons. )
๏ผ their drinks arrive just then, and itachi sweeps the little pastry box off into a black messenger bag deftly as the server sets them out. kakashi clearly planned ahead, because there are two glasses for each of them, one of the clear liquor and one of the brown.
both, apparently, taste abhorrent, but at least they are alcoholic — or so goes the refrain.
itachi, long-accustomed to gritting his teeth against any unpleasantness, hooks the amber glass in the crook of one hand and slides it towards himself across the table. little taste for liquor and no enjoyment, but it would be suspicious to come to a bar that serves only alcohol and not drink it. ๏ผ

If it was me, I would certainly struggle with it. I've never been gifted at the sciences.
